pxm1968 This album made me smile. The overall impression I got was that this album was made by young, intelligent, talented and creative people who love music. Some of the songs reminded me of early Pink Floyd, especially the playfulness of the Barrett days and the jazzy melodies of the Atom Heart Mother album. Nicely done. Favorite track: My Brother is Also Queer.

KP 03:16
When I grow up I want to be a KP, Scrubbing dishes is the only life for me. Up at 5 and stay until 7:30, Mop the floor and make sure it isn't dirty. Clearing plates and scrubbing forks in the evening, By the lift where dishes come for the KP. 6 hours late, the boss is none the wiser. Keeping an eye on the decarboniser. (On the phone) I don't really want to be a KP, I don't even like forks, and I'm really fed up, they're still forcing me to do this and I'm afraid. (On the phone older man) Ah you know, when I was growing up I was a KP, I really don't want to do that mate, that'd fuckin' suck for me.

about

Sobremesa de Campeones, the debut album of composer and saxophonist Ben Caton, glides through a series of dreamlike scenes prompted by disparate obsessions - languages, jobs, books, industrial washing machines...
The musical mood varies like the conversation of the title, moving effortlessly from atmospheric synth textures to growling sax solos to curious monologues, with a fine sense of the absurd underpinning it all.
